Obama to Hillary Supporters: GET OVER IT

There is a great article at NEWSMAX.com concerning Obama's opinion of the women who supported Hillary: GET OVER IT! Personally, I think Obama had a "Freudian slip". Having been raised a Muslim, he immediately (after being questioned by female members of the Black Congressional Congress) got "snippy" at being brought to task by mere women and said:

“If women take a moment to realize that on every issue important to women, John McCain is not in their corner, that would help them get over it.”

What a guy! Obama proves again that he is a caring and sensitive man.

Nuclear Iran: We Have One Year Left

In an interview with the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) director-general Mohamed ElBaradei that aired on Al-Arabiya TV on June 20, 2008, the world got updated on the progress of the Iranian nuclear program. He had the following comments:
"If Iran wants to turn to the production of nuclear weapons, it must leave the NPT [Nuclear Non-Proliferation
Treaty] , expel the IAEA inspectors, and then it would need at least... Considering the number of centrifuges and the quantity of uranium Iran has...It would need at least six months to one year. It would need this period to produce a weapon, and to obtain highly-enriched uranium in sufficient quantities for a single nuclear weapon."

So there you have it. Even the Islamic World considers Iran to be only a year away from making a nuclear bomb. I say the Islamic World because I consider the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) director-general Mohamed ElBaradei to be nothing more than a "mouth-piece" for the Islamic World.

I imagine that the Israeli's are getting their strike forces ready as I write this. I hope that the US is also getting ready.

Father's Day 2008: Vicksburg National Military Park

This Father's Day, I took my grand children to the Vicksburg National Military Park. My oldest grandson has been reading much about this crucial campaign in American History; and he is especially interested in the Mississippi River and the ironclads that were used by both the North and South during the Civil War. The following pictures show him and my other two grandchildren at the USS Cairo at the Vicksburg Park:

Since it was Father's Day, we also decided to look at where my great-great grandfather's unit was located in the Confederate Lines during the siege. The following picture is located to the east of Fort Hill, on the northern portion of the Confederate fortifications. My great-great grandfather's cavalry unit was the "infantry support" for a two gun section of a Mississippi artillery battery. This artillery section consisted of a 12 lb. howitzer and a 6 lb. smoothbore. Unfortunately, the 6 lb. smoothbore was disabled early in the seige; so the 12 lb. howitzer was the only artillery piece left working until the surrender at this location. (My grand daughter wanted to know where her great-great-great-great grandmother was during the siege. She was quite disappointed to learn that she was back home in Choctaw County.)

I believe that our children and grand children need to learn about the history of our country. Not only does it give them a sense of "belonging" but it also shows them the great "sacrifices" made by those that went before them.

We were also lucky to see an artillery demonstration during our visit. A re-enacting group from Vicksburg fired a 12 lb. "Napoleon" at the Visitor Center. I am happy to note that (except for two old "farts" who were about my age) the entire gun crew consisted of young men between the ages of 15 and 18.

It goes without saying that we all had a great time.

"Chicken Run" Is Anti-Islamic

Most of you who have read anything I have written can tell or assume that I am not a big fan of today's Hollywood. But I have enjoyed many recent movies that Disney/Pixar (and other studios) have made. I enjoyed "Cars" and "Ratatouille", taking my grandchildren to both. However an Iranian documentary series on Hollywood cinema was aired on the Islamic Republic of Iran News Network (IRINN), on May 29, 2008. This documentary had some rather harsh words to say about the animated movie "Chicken Run" (released in 2000) in particular.

The Iranian film critic, Dr. Majid Shah-Hosseini, had the following to say:

"In 'Chicken Run,' for example, you find allusions to the Holocaust, to concentration camps, and to the concept of awaiting a hero or a savior. It portrays efforts to escape a predetermined fate – the death of all those who lived in that camp, who are depicted as chickens. Eventually, a kind of Noah's Ark is built – in this case, a flying ship – which is used for their escape."

The narrator of the documentary agrees with Dr. Hosseini and says:

"Unfortunately, Zionist notions can be detected in children's movies, from the days of Walt Disney and TV animation films. The Zionists' exclusive investment in groups specializing in children's films – such as DreamWorks in the 1990s – and the appearance of various works like 'Chicken Run,' which employed magnificent techniques, were part of their premeditated plan to cover the bloodstains soiling the clothes of the occupiers of the lands of Lebanon and the Gaza Strip."

It seems that the Iranians see "Zionist" themes everywhere. Quite frankly, I am amazed. I thought the US was the one of the few countries with "conspiracy theorists".

My oldest grandson and I really liked "Chicken Run". And once he saw the movie "The Great Escape", my oldest grandson enjoyed "Chicken Run" even more. The two are very similar; and both are great movies.

Personally, I think Dr. Majid Shah-Hosseini is a friggin' lunatic. He and Rosie O'Donnell should get together and compare notes.

Hamas Declares: The Mahdi Was Born in Gaza in 2004

Who is the "Mahdi" and why is he important? The Mahdi is an Islamic figure prophesied to appear on the Day of Judgment and to bring redemption to the world. There are numerous traditions in Islam regarding his identity, time of appearance, and activities, which fall into two categories - Shi'ite and Sunni. According to Shi'ite tradition the Mahdi (i.e. the Twelfth Imam) was born but disappeared, and has not yet come back, though his return is expected. According to Sunni tradition, the Mahdi has not yet been born. In all Islamic traditions, the Mahdi's advent is accompanied by the arrival of dajjal, the anti-Christ – a false messiah who will lead people astray.

In an interview by Muslim Gaza cleric 'Issa Badwan with the Hamas-affiliated Al-Aqsa TV on February 6, 2008, Badwan announced to the Palestinian people (and to the entire Muslim and Arab world) that the Mahdi had been born in Gaza in 2004, and that in the near future the Arab nation can expect great victories. To view this clip on MEMRI TV, visit:

This is most interesting. I assume Hamas will try to use all of this to unite the entire Islamic World. If you want more information, I suggest you read the following article at the Middle East Media Research Institute:

Islam Has Been More Harmed By Muslims Than By the West

In an article in the Kuwaiti daily newspaper Al-Siyassa (March 31, 2008), entitled "Muslims Against Islam," Kuwaiti moderate Dr. Ahmad Al-Baghdadi wrote the following:

"The truth is that the biggest enemy of Islam is the Muslims themselves, because they have relinquished all decency in dealing with others, as well as the courage to oppose oppression..."

In an article on one of the leading moderate Muslim websites (http://www.aafaq.org/english/Index.aspx) , Egyptian writer Ahmad Al-Aswani discussed the crimes committed by the Radical Islamic world that he believed have harmed the Prophet Muhammad and discredited the spirit of Islam:

"I do not think that cartoons, books, or films can harm a religion or affect the faith of those who adhere to it out of conviction."

"The ones who harm the Prophet are those who butcher and bomb innocents all over the world, from New York to Madrid, London, Bali, Riyadh and Cairo, Kabul and Baghdad - while invoking Allah and the Prophet under the banner of Islamic jihad..."

But the real eye-opener, is an article by Bahraini columnist Abdallah Al-Ayoubi in the Bahraini daily Akhbar Al-Khaleej (March 31, 2008):
"...The harm to the Muslim religion has not been caused only by the publication, in Danish papers, of cartoons disparaging the Prophet Muhammad or by the film... produced by the Dutch MP. There are many [other], graver, dangers that Muslim religion is exposed to. They come from those who use religion as a cover for their criminal conduct, which they attribute to the teachings of the Islamic faith..."

"Humane and noble [religious] precepts have been destroyed by extremist 'Islamic' movements such as Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, and others, that perpetrate hideous crimes against innocent [people] in their own countries as well as in other, non-Muslim, countries... When base, despicable acts are carried out by [Muslim] societies and nations, they cause tremendous harm to [Islamic] religious teachings."

"This is what happened, for example, as a result of the September 11th crimes against the U.S., and as a result of the attacks in London and Madrid that followed in their wake."
"The Muslim nations must first and foremost purge themselves of [elements] that use Islam and its teachings as a disguise [i.e.] in order to present their crimes against humanity as jihad in the name of Allah... It is inconceivable that the teachings [of Islam] should justify the murder of dozens, [even] thousands, of innocent people. It is such iniquities that have corrupted the image of Islam in the eyes of non-Muslims..."
"[Muslim] nations must adopt the language of reason... in order to deal with the attacks on [Islam], and to wage war against 'Islamic' extremism, which has distorted Muslim religious teachings..."

Perhaps we observing the moderate Islamic world starting to rise up and begin stopping the radicals.

Iran Is an Octopus

In an interview with the London daily newspaper Al-Hayat on May 16, 2008, former Bahraini army chief of staff Sheikh Maj.-General Khalifa ibn Ahmad Aal-Khalifa accused Iran of playing a part in the recent disturbances in Bahrain. He also criticized Iran's policy of interfering in the affairs of other countries. His interview with this London newspaper (written in Arabic) is very interesting on many levels. Take a look at some of the general's quotes:
"Some [who participated in recent disturbances in Bahrain] do indeed have ties with Iran. This is part of Iran's policy; [Iran] is like an octopus - it is rummaging around in Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Gaza, and Bahrain. We are not in the least worried about the groups that are located in Bahrain. Actually, it is a very small group... We can handle elements that are much larger..."

"Bahrain has been cooperating with the forces of friendly [foreign countries like the USA] for over 60 years, helping them to [do their job], in return for [their] safeguarding [Bahrain's] security. It is both understandable and legitimate that a country should be willing to cooperate with friendly forces in order to safeguard its security and to deal with threats directed against it. Countries do not act this way because they enjoy foreign presence but because they feel that there are threats against them that exceed their capability to safeguard their security [independently]. [Here] in Bahrain, we understand, respect, and support this tendency."

"Yes, without a doubt. No one wants war. Peace between Israel and the Palestinians may take some time, but as concerns Syria, the situation is different. Syria may achieve peace just like Jordan and Egypt, and we hope that Lebanon will achieve such peace as well. In my opinion, peace between Syria and Israel will make it easier to [achieve] the longed-for peace between Israel and the Palestinians."

It is very interesting that a former high level government official of Bahrain would make some of these comments. He could be making these comments strictly for consumption in the "West". But I don't get that "take" after reading his interview.

Iranian President Ahmadinejad Says USA Is Declining

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad gave the following remarks on the Iranian News Channel IRINN TV on June 2, 2008:

"Our beloved Imam [Khomeini], you commanded that the arrogant [powers] of the world must be destroyed. You commanded that the global rule of hegemony must be removed. I'd like to say that thanks to your illuminating presence, thanks to your guidance, thanks to your ardent and divine words, thanks to the continuance of your illuminating rule, and thanks to the steadfastness of the Iranian people, today, the cruel and arrogant [powers] have reached a total dead end, and thanks to God, the countdown for the decline of America's demonic power has begun."

"The Zionist regime has lost its raison d'être. Today, the Palestinians identify with your name [Khomeini], your memory, and in your path. They are walking in your illuminated path, and the Zionist regime has reached a total dead end. Thanks to God, your wish will soon be realized, and this germ of corruption will be wiped off the face of the world."

During President Ahmadinejad's remarks, the audience chanted "Death to America" eight times.

I am forced to believe that Ahmaddinejad truly wants the USA destroyed. And the only reason Iran hasn't done it yet is that they are unable to accomplish it. I am also sure the countdown he mentioned is the end of President Bush's term of office.

NASA's Phoenix Mars Lander Finds Ice?

The following photograph was taken by the Robotic Arm Camera on NASA's Phoenix Mars Lander. This image, from underneath the lander, was captured on the fifth Martian day (or sol) of the mission. The Lander's descent thrusters are clearly visible at the top of the image. NASA representatives released the following concerning this image:

"This view from the north side of the lander toward the southern leg shows smooth surfaces cleared from overlying soil by the rocket exhaust during landing. One exposed edge of the underlying material was seen in Sol 4 images, but the newer image reveals a greater extent of it. The abundance of excavated smooth and level surfaces adds evidence to a hypothesis that the underlying material is an ice table covered by a thin blanket of soil."

This is a truly amazing!

What the Islamic World Really Thinks About the Democrats

On May 14, 2008, Saleh Riqab, the Hamas deputy minister of religious endowment, was interviewed on Al-Aqsa TV. During this interview, Mr. Riqab said the following:

"If a Democrat comes to power, like [Bill] Clinton - who served them well in Oslo and elsewhere, and almost served them in the second Camp David, but then made statements [they didn't like] - what did Zionism do? It sent him the Jewish Monica, with whom Clinton had sex in the American White House. Clinton left [the White House], but there are thousands of pages documenting his sexual depravity, because he had sex in the White House. I read a report that Clinton used to call Arab leaders and talk to them while she was having sex with him."

Democrats will be quick to point out that Mr. Riqab's comments only apply to a "Bill Clinton" type Democrat. And I realize that many Democrats believe that most of the terrorist groups and the Islamic world would listen to a "true" Democrat Party president in the White House. However, I believe they are badly mistaken.

Mr. Riqab also said the following:

"We see this clearly in the U.S. elections. Both Democrats and Republicans compete to please the state of the Jews. That's why when a Democrat comes to occupied Palestine, he puts on a religious skullcap, goes to the Western Wall, bangs his head against the wall, and says: 'Your philosophy and the need to please you is now inside my head.' They all compete with one another, but the Jews maintain a balance, and they always prefer the Christian Zionists."

Unless Obama is a Muslim, I don't believe that the terrorist groups and the Islamic World will listen to him.

Pakistan Starts Eliminating Dissidents and Moderate Muslims

On May 23, 2008, Islamic clerics aligned with Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (the radical Pakistani political party which controls about 20% of the Pakistan Congress) delivered sermons during weekly Friday prayers in different mosques across Pakistan. These sermons marked the "Yaum-e-Khatm-e-Nabuwwat", or the Day of the Finality of Prophethood of Islam's founder the Prophet Muhammad. These Islamic clerics, in their sermons, said that all "Qadianis" are enemies of Pakistan and Islam.

Ahmadi Muslims are called "Qadianis" by radical Islamic groups. They are so named after the town of Qadian in India where their leader Mirza Ghulam Ahmad founded the "Ahmadi" movement in the 1880s. They have been declared non-Muslims in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia for allegedly not believing that the Prophet Muhammad is the final prophet of Islam. The Ahmadi Muslims believe military or terrorist-type "jihad" to be forbidden by Islam. They are, for the most-part, considered to be moderates in the West.

The clerics said that all "Qadianis" should be dismissed from top positions in the government and the armed forces.

It appears that the Taliban and Al Qaeda are consolidating their positions in Pakistan.

The Top Five Ways Obama Can Get Rednecks to Vote For Him

5. Change your name from "Obama" to a more familiar sounding "Alabama".

4.  Don't make fun of their deeply held religious beliefs or 2nd Amendment Rights in front of Liberal Elites in San Francisco.

3.  Practice watching a record go around in circles for hours so you can pretend to like NASCAR.

2.  Don't let it slip that you're secretly a Muslim.

And the Number One Way:

1.  Try wearing a flag pin again. Rednecks love America for some strange reason.

If The Pakistani Taliban Gets Control of Pakistan's Nuclear Weapons, They Will Use Them

During an interview with Beitullah Mahsoud (the Emir of the Pakistani Taliban) on Al-Jazeera TV on May 26, 2008, the Emir said the following:

"The problem of Pakistan is that it has lost what it used to have, and this is because it no longer has an independent political will, and its army does not adhere to its nuclear weapons. Moreover, it uses the weapons in its possession against the people and against the Muslims. Pakistan should use these [nuclear] weapons to defend the Muslims and to challenge the enemies. But the army has used its weapons to harm the people and the Muslims."

Clearly, my article of May 18, 2008, (entitled "Shari Established in Pakistan's North West Frontier Province") was correct in my assumption that Pakistan is the next "hot" spot in the War on Terror.

Beitullah Mahsoud went on to say, "We are happy to have the Americans here and to be their enemies. The Jews and the Christians are among our sworn enemies, and Allah willing, we will fight them to the end."

I don't think there is any doubt as to who he wants to "nuke". Again, I hope that US Intelligence services and the US Military are watching this carefully.

On the Funnier (?) Side

On Memorial Day, presidential candidate Obama released statements that members of his family served in the forces of the Soviet Union during World War II. Obama said,  "His WWII veteran uncle helped liberate Auschwitz."

This concentration camp, located in Poland, was liberated by the Red Army on January 27, 1945.

Later, presidential candidate Obama and his handlers released additional information. It seems that Obama's Red Army uncle and Soviet forces also liberated Buchenwald later that year. This came as quite a shock to veterans of the U.S. 89th Infantry Division. For over 50 years they thought that they had liberated Buchenwald, located in Germany.

Speaking to a gentleman (who asked not to be named), this World War II veteran of the 89th Infantry Division and the liberation of Buchenwald said he was shocked to learn that the Russians got there first.
