Fox News is reporting that Burmese Pythons are starting to spread North from the Florida Everglades. According to game biologists, there are presently approximately 30,000 of these snakes in the Everglades; and they seem to be expanding their range. These same game biologists estimate that this particular snake could easily exist all the way to Tennessee.
Great. This is what I need. Now when I go hunting in Mississippi in the early fall of the year, not only do I have to watch out for rattlesnakes and cotton-mouths. Now I have to watch out for twelve foot long Burmese Pythons. The only possible "bright side" to this story is that perhaps the PETA-nuts might be too scared to wander around in the woods trying to "defend" the rights of deers and squirrels.
